About Mediterranean Plan

Mediterranean Plan publishes practical, research-backed Mediterranean diet education and builds personalized Mediterranean meal plans. Our goal is simple: make the most-studied healthy eating pattern in the world easy to follow in a normal kitchen, on a normal budget.

Who writes this site

Our guides are written by Kimberly Clark, a nutritional scientist and the founding editor of the Mediterranean Diet blog. She holds a degree in nutritional science and has spent more than a decade translating peer-reviewed nutrition research into everyday Mediterranean cooking guidance.

Recipes and meal plans are developed and checked by our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist review team, who confirm portions, nutrient balance and any clinical claims before publication.

Our editorial process

  1. Research first. Health claims start from randomized trials, systematic reviews and long-running cohort studies — including PREDIMED, the Lyon Diet Heart Study and the Seven Countries Study — not from diet trends.
  2. Cite the source. Each guide lists its references so you can read the underlying study yourself.
  3. Dietitian review. Nutrition and clinical content is reviewed by our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist review team before it goes live.
  4. Kitchen-tested. Meals must work with supermarket ingredients and realistic prep times.
  5. Updated, not archived. Pages carry a last-updated date and are revised as the evidence changes.

What we do not do

We do not give medical advice, diagnose conditions, promise specific weight-loss numbers, or sell supplements. Nothing here replaces care from your doctor or a registered dietitian — especially if you are pregnant, managing a chronic condition or taking prescription medication.

How the personalized plan works

Our quiz asks about your age, current and goal weight, health priorities, cooking time and food dislikes, then builds a Mediterranean meal plan and daily targets around those answers. It is a paid product, and it funds the free 28-guide library on this site.
